Thanks for your feedback. There is an extension called footiefox which does football scores in a similar manner. Its available via mozilla addons.

Hi there. Would it be possible to add Australian state teams to the extension?

If the scores are listed live by CricInfo.com then they will be available through the current version of the extension. If not then I'll try and find some other way to source them.
I don't think the Australian season starts until October though so I won't be able to find a definitive answer until then.

I'm not sure why this is happening, I'm unable to replicate the problem on my computer unfortunately.
If you type about:config into the address bar and then filter the results by typing 'cricketfox' do you see four preferences? You should have values for:
extensions.cricketfox.displayPreference
extensions.cricketfox.favTeam, value
extensions.cricketfox.secondaryTeam
extensions.cricketfox.updateIntervalIf you want to go back to version 0.2, uninstall cricketfox then install 0.2 from the Revision History section of this site.

Just upgraded to V0.3 & I get the same problem as-well.
Have checked about:config & I have all four values listed above.
Shame, this is a great service, switching back to 0.2 until youve fixed it.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 - [11] Submitted by: Tim W on Thursday 25th May 2006 at 17:56 -0400

This clearly isn't an isolated problem. There have been over 800 downloads of v0.3 so i'm currently trying to find out if anybody out there who has 0.3 working.
It would be really helpful if somebody with the problem could send some detailed information to me at tw302@zepler.org.
if possible i need:
1) a screenshot of what appears in the statusbar with the tooltip showing (just hover your mouse over the cricketfox area and do a print screen)
2)What extensions you have installed (maximise your extensions window and do a print screen is probably easiest)
3)If you have a "stage_apis" or "temp" folder in your firefox extensions directory. you can find the extensions directory in your firefox profile folder.
(It would be extremely helpful to me if somebody could become a beta tester for this. It would involve me sending you possible fixed versions of the extension via email and you letting me know if the problem still occurs. Volunteer here or drop me a mail.
Appreciate all the feedback, i'll try and get a fix out asap.

Thanks to everybody who's left feedback or emailed me the last few days about the problem with 0.3. Hopefully 0.3.1 will deliver the better user experience that 0.3 was supposed to give.
Last few days have definitely shown me how important community feedback is so please keep it up.

I'm seeing that problem too. not sure what the issue is, think CricInfo may have changed the structure of their feeds although they haven't notified me.
I can't look at this today, i'll see if i can fix it over the weekend.
Thanks,Tim

Hi! Thought I could get a couple of feature requests here...
1. Could you make that second favourite team optional? Would save screen space if I don't have a second...
2. Could that cricket ball icon if there are no matches played made optional? I know it's a small icon, but given the number of extensions using the status bar, every pixel matters to me :)
I guess this page is not monitorable, it would be great if you could mail me for clarifications/objections at AT gmail DOT com.

I've installed v0.4.2 but still the two teams I've nominated - Surrey and England are shown as "Your selected teams aren't currently playing". Surrey are certainly currently playing (badly!) and their score is currently shown on cricinfo. Any ideas as to how to correct the problem?

For problems i really need to see the exact xml produced by cricinfo. go to cricinfo.com, find the Live Scores Rss feed and save it to your desktop. Then submit a bug report on this site at the Bugs link, attaching the xml file. Cricinfo tend to change their file format quite regularly and when that happens, Cricetfox dies. I'm out all day so can't diagnose problems straight away, I'll take a look this w/e tho.

Try typing about:config in to your address bar, then filtering the list of preferences by typing cricketfox. You should set 2 fields, extensions.cricketfox.favTeam and extensions.cricketfox.secondaryTeam. Please check that the favTeam field is set to India

I very much appreciate cricketfox, but lately I have been getting the scores of the England U-19s and the England Women's Team. Fine if no other match is on, but the 3rd test against India is taking place at the moment and I'd rather see the score for that!

yes, that's a pretty major bug i'm afraid. The way that Cricketfox works is that it looks at the scores from Cricinfo and then searches for your selected team name. Obviously searching for England is returning the three games you mention, so Cricketfox just picks one of these at random, possibly the last score in the list.
I've not been doing any active development on this for a while now but will see if I can sort a fix out soon.
Tim
